11 Hair Care Tips For Beautiful Natural Or Chemically Treated Hair.

Hair care tips are always in demand. whether your hair is chemically treated or all natural, these tips will get you on the road to beautiful, strong,  and healthy hair.

Know your Hair Type

One of the most important hair care tips is to know your hair type. How would you describe your hair? Is your hair fine? Is your hair normal? Is your hair dry and damaged? Is it color treated or permed?

Did you know that when you perm, color, or use hot styling tools you are probably changing your hair type to some extent?

That's why it's important to get your hair type right so you can put together the correct ingredients  for your particular type of hair.

What type of shampoo to use

Use shampoo and conditioners with Panthenol. So what's the big deal with this ingredient that you often hear about in the commercials? Well, Panthenol contains vitamin B and it is a natural moisturizing ingredient found in eggs that thickens the cuticle.

It helps to repair split ends , fly - away hair and general weakening of the hair shaft.

You can also mix eight drops of liquid Panthenol with one teaspoon of olive or jojoba oil and rub it into your scalp. Leave on for 30 mints and wash it out.

Be gentle when shampooing

You should always be gentle when shampooing your hair. Treat it like a fine cashmere garment, not like your favorite sweat pants you wear when you wash you car. Try to take care to wash and dry your  hair to prevent tangles and damage.

If you shampoo or dry your hair too vigorously you could end up damaging your hair before you even to the styling part.

Below is one of my favorite hair care tips for shampooing. I've always used this technique thought my career. My customers love it, and so will yours!

How To Shampoo

Each time you shampoo your hair gently massage your scalp with the tips of your fingers in a circular motion. Why? Because this will increase blood flow to the follicles,  encourage a healthy scalp, increase shine, and condition as well as encourage growth.

Don't scrub (like most people love to do). When drying your hair pat and squeeze with a towel.

What kind of brushes  to use

Make sure you are using the right kind of brushes for your hair type and your hair length. Use brushes with rounded ends to prevent damage. Brush your hair gently and only when necessary.

When to trim

You should always maintain your hair with pride and consistency. Depending on the length and style. Have it trimmed regularly. If you wear your hair short, have the style refreshed every 3 to 4 weeks.

If you are growing your hair longer, have it trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks to remove split ends.

Natural ingredients to look for in your products

Ingredients to look for on product labels include herbs especially peppermint, eucalyptus, thyme and rosemary and plant or seaweed based products.

These will increase circulation, which lead to better distribution of oil all over the scalp and prevent your hair follicles from clogging up from by dead cells and oil.

Use Hot Oil Treatments

Use a hot oil treatment once or twice a week. Deep conditioning can help keep hair manageable.

Quick hair care tip for hot oil treatment:

Warm a tablespoon of jojoba oil, avocado, or olive oil in the palm of your hand, massage into hair, place a plastic shower cap over your head for 30 to 60 minutes, rinse out with a gentle shampoo.

Make sure you eat enough protein. Since the hair shaft is made of the protein  keratin, a diet low in protein will cause you to have brittle hair. You need at least two to three daily servings of protein in the form of tofu, soy milk, beans and peas, nuts and nut butters to get hair that's manageable and healthy.
